Inform unit/office of confirmed move dates
Update contact details with unit and family
Carry personal identity documents in hand baggage, not checked luggage

Family

Discuss the move timeline with family
Plan for continuity of children's schooling
Arrange care for elderly or dependent family members during transit

Accommodation

Confirm new accommodation allotment or availability
Arrange handover of current accommodation
Note utility meter readings at handover
Complete an accommodation condition report before vacating

Documents

Service documents (Service Book, ACR/APAR copies)
Pay slips and Last Pay Certificate
Movement Order and posting order copies
Family ID cards and dependent certificates

Banking

Inform your bank of the new posting station
Keep chequebook / passbook accessible during transit
Note the nearest bank branch at the new station

Medical

Carry medical records and current prescriptions
Note ECHS Polyclinic details at the new station
Keep essential medicines accessible during travel

Schooling

Obtain a Transfer Certificate from the current school
Research schools at the new station in advance
Carry academic records and report cards

Vehicle

Service the vehicle before long-distance travel

Utilities

Schedule disconnection of electricity/gas/water at the current station
