How this works

What it means

A rough gross monthly salary breakup — Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance, HRA and TA added together — to see roughly what your monthly gross salary looks like.

How it’s calculated

Basic Pay is entered manually or resolved from the 7th CPC Pay Matrix. DA is computed as Basic Pay × DA %. HRA and TA are entered directly — this calculator composes already-known figures rather than recomputing them, so it doesn't duplicate the HRA or Transport Allowance calculators' own rate logic.

Common Defence use cases

Getting a quick gross salary total when your HRA/TA figures are already known, and checking how a DA revision or a Pay Matrix cell change would move your gross figure.

Formula

DA Amount = Basic Pay × DA % ÷ 100 Estimated Gross Salary = Basic Pay + DA Amount + HRA + TA

Assumptions

  • This is a simplified, illustrative estimate only — not a substitute for your actual pay slip. Always verify with your pay and accounts office.

  • Only Basic Pay, DA, HRA and TA are included — Military Service Pay and other allowances are not added.
  • This is a GROSS figure only — no deductions (Income Tax, NPS/AGIF, insurance premiums, etc.) are subtracted.
