What it means
Your monthly Dearness Allowance (DA) amount — a cost-of-living allowance paid as a percentage of Basic Pay, at the rate currently notified by the government.
How it’s calculated
Monthly DA is simply your Basic Pay multiplied by the DA percentage you enter, divided by 100. The DA percentage itself changes periodically and is not looked up automatically — enter the rate currently applicable to you.
Common Defence use cases
Checking your DA amount after a DA rate revision, estimating total monthly emoluments alongside Basic Pay, and cross-checking a figure shown on your pay slip.
Formula
Monthly DA Amount = Basic Pay × DA % ÷ 100Assumptions

- DA % is entered by you rather than looked up automatically — the currently applicable rate changes periodically and is not tracked by this calculator.
- Only Basic Pay and DA % are used. This calculator does not compute DA on any other allowance (e.g. Transport Allowance, HRA) that may separately draw its own DA component under specific rules.
